Rabbi Mayer E. Rabinowitz.
Rabbi Rabinowitz is
dean of the graduate
school at the Jewish
Theological Seminary of
America and associate
professor in Talmud on
both the graduate and
undergraduate levels. He
has also served as in-
structor and assistant
professor of Talmud and
held the administrative
posts of dean of students
at the Seminary
College-Teachers Insti-
tute and associate dean
of the graduate school.

The first meeting of the
genealogical branch of the
Jewish Historical Society of
Michigan will be held at 8
p.m. Tuesday at the main
Jewish Community Center.
Admission is free.
The organization's inten-
tion is to be a self-help group
that will aid interested
Jewish people in their
search for their family his-
tory and origins by ex-
changing ideas, methods
and discoveries.
Future meetings will in-
clude lecturers on geneal-
ogy, research methods, his-
tory and archival holdings.

A room has been dedi-
cated at Yeshivath Beth
Yehuda in memory of the
late Meyer and Bessie
Beckman and their grand-
daughter Myra Jacqueline
Hoffman.
The room and a gold
plaque were dedicated by
Mrs. Flora Hoffman in
memory of her parents and
daughter.
