BONN '(JTA) — West Germany's trade with Arab countries declined substan- tially during the first six months of this year, with some political ramifica- tions. The Ministry for Econom- ics reported that imports from Arab countries amounted to 9.3 billion marks in the six-month period, down by 34.2 per- cent while exports amounted to 14.3 billion The recordings, produced by a Lichtenstein-based company, were marketed in Germany by the firm as sci- entific documentaries. Meanwhile, various labor and youth organizations and the Jewish community of Lower Saxony have pro- tested against a decision by the town of Falingbostel to rent a hall to the neo-Nazi National Democratic Party (NDP) for its national con- vention Oct. 1-2. The Central Trade Union (DGB) and other groups announced they will organize a protest march on those dates to the former Nazi concen- tration camp of Bergen- Belsen. Youth organiza- tions and others will par- ticipate in protest demonstrations in Falingbostel. In a related development, a number of militant neo- Nazi organizations have banded together to seek seats in the Parliament of the federal state of Hesse in elections next month that are seen as a crucial test for right-wing groups. The neo-Nazis will run candidates under the ban- ner of "Action for Repatria- tion of Foreigners" (AAR). They will be competing with other parties, including the neo-Nazi National Demo- cratic Party(NDP) which, compared to the AAR seems "moderate." She said the Hesse constitution provides sufficient grounds for a ban.
