chairman of the discussion
series. "The informal ses-
sions will be led by popular
speakers who are
authorities in their fields."
Edward Schnee will
discuss the influence of
cults on Jewish society.
Speaking from personal
experience, he will pro-
vide an in-depth view of
the impact of cults on
young people and their
parents.
Area psychologist Dr. Jef-
frey Kottler will address the
topic of being single in the
Jewish world. He has spo-
ken to overflow audiences
on meeting the challenges
faced by single Jewish men
and women. A member of
the Oakland University fa-
culty, Dr. Kottler has wri-
ten several books, including
"Mouthing Off."
Jewish Community Cen-
ter exercise instructor Alli-
son Stuart-Gluck will speak
on fitness in the 1980s. She
leads the Center's popular
"Master Workout," which
emphasizes stretching,
high-energy aerobics and
slimnastics. Ms. Stuart-
Gluck hogts the monthly
"After Master Workout
Party," a wine and cheese
reception which draws
crowds of about 200 young
adults to the Center. She
has taught physical educa-
tion at the University of
Arizona.
Also participating in the
program will be Linda Bin-
kow, who will discuss in-
termarriage and the family.
Betty White, a coun-
selor and educator at the
Oakland University Con-
tinuum Center, will dis-,
cuss dealing with aging
parents. She teaches per-
sonal growth and asser-
tiveness training to older
adults. Ms. White also
conducts workshops and
provides counseling for
elderly adults and their
families.
The discussions will
begin at 12:45 p.m. in Room
301 of the Jewish Commu-
nity Center.
The community is invited
to the Fair, which will have
activities for children and
adults of all ages. Fair hours
are noon to 4 p.m. A Run for
Soviet Jewry is scheduled
for 1 p.m.
