Executives, said here that
"in the not too distant fu-
ture Israel will totally
withdraw from Lebanon,
letting Syria stay there." In
Dulzin's opinion, this would
constitute a basis for a
long-range agreement be-
tween Syria and Israel.
He told the Zionist
Organization of Canada
that "there is no future for
Lebanon as a state. He said
that the war in Lebanon
"was a most difficult but
also a very important one
, for Israel and that, with the
exception of Syria and 1
Libya all Arab states are
willing to start a dialogue
with Israel."
The Zionist leader
stressed "the honeymoon"
relationship Israel enjoys
today with the United
States following the Reagan
Administration's terrible
disappointment with the
so-called moderate Arab
states whose words and
promises have proved unre-
liable.
Regarding the solution
of the Palestinian prob-
lem, Dulzin said "there
will never be another 1
new Arab state in the 1
region." Peace in the
region will be achieved
only through negotia-
tions between Israel and
Jordan, not between Is-
rael and the Palestinians.
On other matters, Dulzin
forecasts a government of
national unity in Israel
whose primary objective
will be to deal with the
thorny issues of rampant in-
flation, which the intensifi-
cation of immigration from
the Diaspora and with
Jewish education around
the- world.
It was decided by the
Zionist Organization of
Canada that a number of
scholarships be awarded to
Canadians studying in Is-
rael.

Nicholas Story
Is Published

The story of Ben
Nicholas, the man who per-
suaded the California State
Legislature to pass the na-
tion's first "right-to-die-
with-dignity" law in the
late 1970s, is told by Martin
Litvin in "A Daring Young
Man: A Biography of Ben
Nicholas," which has been
published by Frank A.
Ward.
The author, a native of
Galesburg, Ill., has written
eight books since graduat-
ing from the University of
Southern California in the
early 1950s. Among Litvin's
more recent books is "The
Journey," a biography of the
Jewish frontier pioneer,
August M. Bondi.
