be Jan Karski, a lieutenant
in the Polish resistance
movement during World
War II.
He escaped several
times from Poland dur-
ing the war to report on
conditions to the Allies,
and met with President
Roosevelt and Anthony
Eden, among others.
Karski was smuggled
into the Warsaw Ghetto and
concentration camps to ob-
tain first-hand knowledge
which he conveyed to Allied
leaders. Karski survived
Gestapo capture and tor-
ture, and eventually
authored the book "Story of
Secret State" about his ad-
ventures. He is now profes-
sor of government at
Georgetown University in
Washington, D.C.
Featured on the program
with Karski will be Rev.
Leonard Chrobot, president
