BBYO Activities

A total of 30 AZA and
BBG chapter presidents
will attend the Michigan
Region BBYO VIP Leader-
ship Camp next week at the
Charles and Florence Milan
BBYO Conference Centre
in Belle River, Ont. The
six-day program is designed
to train new chapter
presidents and will include
sessions on leadership,
membership, programm-
ing, policy interpretation,
fund raising and budgets.
A highlight of the pro-
gram will be a presentation
by Joe Eisenberg, executive
director of the Windsor
Jewish Community Coun-
cil, who will discuss the con-
cept of the organized Jewish
community and where
BBYO chapters fit in.
BBYO announces the ap-
pointment of Phil Newman
as adviser to Kishon AZA.
Positions as volunteer ad-
visers to AZA and BBG
chapters in Southfield,
Farmington Hills and West
Bloomfield are still avail-

nant" is the theme selected
for this year's Michigan
BBYO Regional Conven-
tion, as announced by co-
chairmen Andrea Jaron of
Shemesh BBG and Jeff
Cymerint of Rose AZA. The
convention will be held Dec.
25-29 at the main Jewish
Community Center. Con-
test workbooks for the con-
vention will be distributed
to chapter presidents at the
VIP Leadership Camp.
Each chapter is expected to
choose a chairman for the
convention by Sept. 30.

fers its recipe for "Chicken
Superb" for holiday dinners.

1 box Empire cut-up frying
chicken
21/a tbsps. pareve margarine
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 tomato, peeled, seeded,
chopped
2 cup dry kosher white wine
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 tbsp. kosher cognac
1/2 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. salt
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp. minced parsley
In frying pan, place mar-
garine and melt over medium
heat. Add chicken and cook,
turning, about 10 minutes or
until brown on all sides. Add
mushrooms and tomato; cook
5 minutes. Stir in wine, broth,
cognac, salt and paprika; cook
about 15 minutes or until fork
can be inserted in chicken with
ease.
Remove chicken to warm
platter. Skim any fat from fry-
ing pan and discard. To re-
maining contents in fry pan,
add garlic and parsley and
cook, stirring occasionally,
about 5 minutes to reduce liq-
uid; pour on chicken. Makes 4
servings.
