fast-moving process with
head waitress Judy Palmer,
who was at Sero's on Wood-
ward in Royal Oak about
seven years . . . The hostes-
ses also have a lot to do with
a fast paced operation ..

"Lucky" have experienced
gals like Helen Costa, days,
and Mary Lukasik, eve-
nings.

versity National Women's
Committee holds its pre-
view night Wednesday from
9:30 p.m. to midnight .. .
with $3 advance tickets
from Brandeis volunteers at
the mall that Wednesday
afternoon . . . Admission is
free for rest of the sale .. .
Aug. 25 through Aug. 31.
The gals have been
gathering books all year . .
getting prepared for this
event . . . Over 100,000
books are ready for book
lovers and collectors ..
Leftover books are donated
to hospitals, nursing homes,
schools, prisons and social
service agencies.
All the proceeds of Bran-
deis Used Book Sale go to
Brandeis libraries where,
during the past year, a
quarter of a million books
were lent . . . The libraries,
as of 1982, contain 1.5 mil-
lion books and microtexts.
Book Sale chairladies are
Barbara Mellen and
Eleanor Roberts... Helen
Lipton is chairgal of volun-
teers . . . Jo Mellon is open-
ing night chairlassie.. .
Setup is being done by Shir-
ley Weiner, Youth Services
by Irene Crane . . . and at
least 100 volunteers on duty
during the sale.
