Bel Canto Choral Society

The Bel Canto Choral
Society announces the ap-
pointment of Dr. Morton
.Gold as its new music direc-
tor.
Dr. Gold became the or-
ganist and music director at
Temple Israel in May 1982.
Previously, he was profes- .
sor of music at Nasson Col-
lege in Springvale, Maine,
and a teacher and conduc-
tor.
He has conducted his
music with the Boston Pops
Orchestra and is the com-
poser of "Haggada: A
Search for Freedom" and of
"Havdala: a 'Pageant of
Farewell."
He holds a Master of
Arts degree in teaching
from Harvard University
and a Bachelor of Music
and Doctor of Musical
Arts degrees from Boston
University. He also has
