It will be addressed by Charles S. Wolfe, executive vice president of the Jewish Home for the Aged, an- nounced Linda Lee, vice president - membership, and by Sharon Hart, president of the Detroit Chapter of the American Women for Bar-Ilan. The meeting will be held in honor of current life members and to enlist addi- tional women to become life members. Wolfe will talk about his recent trip to the Soviet Union. He has been associ- Diabetes Class Starts Sept. 1 A series of six diabetes classes will be held 7:30 p.m. Thursdays in the au- ditorium of the Oakland County Health Division, 27225 Greenfield, South- field, beginning Sept. 1. These classes are for adult diabetics and their family members. They are taught by a public health nurse and a registered dieti- tian. Topics that will be dis- cussed include the nature of the disease, dietary man- agement, medications, and suggestions for coping with everyday problems. City of Hope Couples Elect New Officers Mr. and Mrs. Group, City of Hope, elected Max Kush- ner president at its recent election meeting. Other officers are: Irving Pitt, vice president; Theda Gerbs and Sylvia Mevis, secretaries; and Sarah Fishkind, treasurer. CHARLES S. WOLFE ated with the Jewish Home for the Aged since 1970, and has gained a national repu- tation for his work. Wolfe received his bachelor's, master's, and specialist degrees from Eastern Michigan Uni- versity, and he has done additional graduate work in the School of Business and Finance at the University of Detroit, and in gerontological counseling at Wayne State University. He is currently an assis- tant adjunct professor in the medical school at WSU as well as an adjunct in- structor in the School of Os- teopathic Medicine at Michigan State University, and a preceptor for George Washington University. Wolfe served as president of the Michigan Non-Profit Homes Association from 1979 to 1980, and was the inaugural chaiiman of pro- fessional development for the American Association of Homes for Aging for 1978 and 1979, and currently is vice president of the Na- tional Association of Jewish Homes and Housing for the Aged, as well as chairman of the Task Force on Aging of the Greater Detroit Area Health Council.
