THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS

To Our Advertisers ...

Once again, during this holiday season, we have been informed
that some businesses and individuals are being solicited by mail to
place greeting ads in a Canadian newspaper with little or no circu-
lation in the Metropolitan Detroit area.
WE DO NOT solicit by mailing copies of the Yellow Pages, or
any other previously-printed ads.
The only persons authorized to solicit any ads for The Jewish
News are members of our advertising department, recognized ad-
vertising agencies, or by filling out the coupons that occasionally
appear in our own columns.
We can only urge you to use caution and bewake of dubious
claims.

In Bonn, Walter Ohlmer,
the archivist of the town of
Moringen on Lower Saxony,
has resigned, following pro-
tests over the publication of
an official book about the
town which contains a clear
anti-Jewish bias.
The book was sharply
condemned by Prime
Minister Ernst Albrecht
of the federal state of
Lower Saxony.
Ohlmer had written a
chronicle called "1,000
Years of Moringen" in
which Kristallnacht (the
night of shattered glass, re-
ferring to the Nazi rampage
during which the windows
of Jewish-owned stores in
Germany were shattered)
was attributed to Jewish
provocations.
