Yiddish Concert on Sunday
Workmen's Circle of
Michigan will present its
fifth annual free Yiddish
concert at 2 p.m. Sunday in
David Shepherd Park, Oak
Park. The concert is co-
sponsored by the Sholem
Aleichem Institute and the
Jewish Community Council
of Metropolitan Detroit.
Guest artists will be
Mack Pitt and his 12-piece
orchestra, folk singer Larry
Bassin and Nicolai Lem-
berg, flutist.
Noah was 500 years old
when his sons were born.
Ivan Novick to Address Cong. Beth Shalom
Israel Bond Dinner Honoring the Tarnoffs
Ivan J. Novick, im-
mediate past president of
the Zionist Organization of
America, will be guest
speaker at the Cong. Beth
Shalom Israel Bond Dinner
scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Aug.
15 in the synagogue social
hall.
At the 83rd national con-
vention of the ZOA held this
past May, Novick was
elected ZOA chairman of
the board.
Honored at the dinner
will be Mr. and Mrs. George
(Muriel) Tarnoff of West
Bloomfield, members of
Beth Shalom for 28 years.
The Tarnoffs will receive
the state of Israel's 35th
Anniversary Award, "in
tribute to their dedication to
their synagogue, their
community and the state of
Israel's economic develop-
ment."

Report's Release
WASHINGTON — Ten
members of the House
Foreign Affairs Committee
have asked the U.S. Attor-
ney General to investigate
the release of a preliminary
General Accounting Office
report on U.S. aid to Israel
by an Arab organization.
Reps. Lawrence J. Smith
(D-Fla.) and Howard L. Be-
rman (D.-Calif.) circulated
a letter asking Attorney
General William French
Smith to investigate the re-
lease of the classified, un-
edited version by the
American-Arab Anti-
Discrimination Committee.
The Justice Department
announced that it would
investigate.
