Knesset Defeats New Elections JERUSALEM (JTA) — The Knesset rejected last week a Tami Party private member's bill for elections for a new Knesset next Oc- tober, instead of the scheduled 1984 date. The re- jection stemmed from a tie vote on the proposal and under Knesset rules, such a vote means a proposal does not pass. Tami had wanted the proposal to be discussed immediately, without wait- ing the required 48 hours between submission of a proposal and debate on it. Failure meant that the pro- posal must wait 48 hours and by that time, the Knes- set had adjourned for sum- mer vacation. Story, Movies at the Library The Southfield Public Li- brary summer reading pro- gram will present storytel- ling by a children's libra- rian and the movies "Cicero — Queen's Drum Horse" and "Cabbages and Kings" 2 p.m. Wednesday. This free program for school age children will last about an hour. No registra- tion is required. No preschoolers will be admit- ted. Free Cohcert The Austin-Moro Band will be featured 7 p.m. Sun- day in a free concert at the Prudential Town Center sponsored by the city of Southfield. . _Ad 1111•"" .
