on Woodward . . . On it is an
antique fireplace Mantel
from an old house torn down
in Indian Village . . . the
pitch black color stripped to
a mahogany.
Incredible Edibles is an
interesting place for
people who love nostal-
gic decor ... The booths
they sit in are from
Brother's Deli in North-
land table tops made
from the heavy wood
walls of their former
place next door ... The
front door with beveled
bar was completely re-
built ... from an over 80-
year-old barn ... A walk-
in refrigerator and brass
draft beer tap heads are
from Ted's, Square Lake
and Woodward... Entire
dishwasher unit was
once at Sanders across
from J.L. Hudson's
downtown ... and the
cashregister is from a
party store in the
Davison-Six Mile area.
You'll like sweet, smiling,
efficient waitresses like
Kathy Seymour . . . and in-
timate coziness of this
ever-so-clean place . . .
where the family restau-
rant reputation has still
been retained . . . Sunday
brunches at Incredible Edi-
bles are big ($4.95 adults, $3
under 12) with 35 items in-
cluding omelettes made in
ygis gsficurtreg's-
front of folks.
Ever hear of a restaurant
doorbell (other than blind
pig?) . . . It's at the seven-
day-a-week Incredible Edi-
bles operation .
with a
sign from the chef
says,
"If you like my cooking, ring
my bell." . . . It gets rung
plenty of times . . . mostly
by adults.
YOU SELDOM leave the
Red Devil on Fenkell, east
of Greenfield, empty
handed . . . The goodies
there, especially those out-
of-this world soft homemade
breadsticks are almost a
must to take home . . . Even
whatever pizza, veal or
chicken, too . . . An ultra-
experienced gal like Helen
Romaine already has the
bags and boxes ready .. .
She's going on her 29th year
as a waitress at Red Devil.
DON'T KNOW if parts
have been filled yet, but
Jimmy Launce Productions
were seeking a female and
two male parts for "Bugatta
Room" opening Sept. 9 at
The Club, Hyatt Regency
Dearborn . . . plus four
males and two females for
"Catch Me If You Can" star-
ring Jimmy and opening
Sept. 16 at Somerset Mall
Dinner Theater . . . Call
855-5044 . . . If they've been
filled, get on the Launce list
for future work.
MKs to Debate
Unity Measure
JERUSALEM (JTA) -
The Knesset voted 52-26 to
discuss the issue of a na-
tional unity government
last Thursday. Premier
Menahem Begin said he
would support such an in-
itiative by the Labor
Alignment but accused the
opposition of blocking it.
Begin spoke in response
to an agenda motion on the
subject by MK Avraham
Malamed of the National
Religious Party. He said
that as long as the Labor
Alignment stands by its
resolution against a na-
tional unity government
there was nothing that
could be done.
Labor MK Haim Barley
asked that the motion be
stricken from the agenda.
He argued that a national
unity government was feas-
ible only when the electo-
rate has no alternative.
Labor, he said, offers an al-
ternative.

JERUSALEM (JNI) -
Israeli Knesset member
Shulamit Aloni used a July
visit to the Soviet Union to
level criticism at the Jewish
members of the Soviet
anti-Zionist Committee.
While in Moscow, Ms.
Aloni told the committee
that their comments on Is-
rael employed "the sort of
cheap demagoguery which
verges on anti-Semitism."
The MK also told her hosts
that she came to the Soviet
Union as a representative of
"the largest faction in the
Knesset - the Zionists."
