Robinson, has announced the appointment of chairmen of the two pro- fessional divisions of the Campaign. They are Mark R. This year's schedule will include a three-morning program, a five-morning program, a three-afternoon program and a five- With the new hospice Medicare program going into effect Nov. 1, more and more people will be qual- ified for hospice care, whether in their homes or in the homelike hospice. Hospice of Southeastern Michigan (HSEM) not only cares for adults, either in their homes or at the hos- pice; it is the only U.S. hos- pice also geared to caring for infants and children. HSEM has cared for patients as young as 10 months and as old as 100 years. Hospices care for persons with incurable illness in the last six months of their lives, and provide pain and symptom control. Emo- tional and spiritual support are offered families as well as patients. The hospice was re- cently , certified by the state of Michigan De- partment of Public Health as a home health care agency. The certifi- cation is a necessary qualification to care for hospice Medicare patients. In an effort to inform and update the public about the hospice movement, HSEM staff and volunteers are available to make public service presentations and answer questions on hospice care. There is no charge for this service. School hours are from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 - 3:15 p.m. A "lunch program" is offered for those who desire extended hours by arriving before afternoon classes for lunch, or staying after morning classes for lunch. The lunch program will be held Tuesdays, Wednes- days, Thursdays and Fri- days. The "Mother-Toddler" classes (children 18-36 months) will be available on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10 to 11:30 a.m., beginning Sept. 15. A new classroom environment for 2-year-old toddlers and Their mothers also is being formulated. The class will meet one morning per week. Later in the year the mothers will be going to an- other part of the temple for parenting classes. The "Kid-Bits Pro- gram" will hold a variety of classes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and afternoons from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 1-2:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 15. Some of the classes being offered are: "11' is for Rozie" geography, mathematics, reading, writing, and his- tory); "Dancing Feet" (tap, modern, jazz, exercise routines and a recital); "Fun with Hebrew" (games, story-telling, arts and crafts, dramatic plays, rhythm and instruments); "Science" (experiments, ecology, animals "present and pre-historic," and space); "Woodworking and Handicrafts" and "Some- thing Terrific" (potpourri of crafts, gardening, cooking, sewing, etc.) An orientation coffee klatch will be held at Tem- ple Israel on Aug. 24 at 1 p.m. For information, con- tact the nursery school office, 661-5700.
