The annual funds raised go in support of the Bnai Brith youth serving agen- cies; the Bnai Brith Youth Organization, AZA and BBG and the Bnai Brith structure. In the metropoli- tan Detroit area there are 1,200 teenagers that belong to AZA and BBG. The prO- fessional staff guide these young people in developing leadership skills, commu- nity awareness and in- volvement and participa- tion in activities surround- ing Jewish heritage and customs. The Bnai Brith Hillel Foundation is actively pre- sent on the major Michigan college campuses; Wayne State University, Univer- sity of Michigan, Michigan State University, Oakland University and in Kalamazoo at Western Michigan University. Hillel serves as a home away from home for many college students, providing Shabat and holiday services, kosher meals and a gathering place for Jewish stu- dents. The co-chairmen for the kick-off rally are Alex T. Ornstein and Nathan D. Rubenstein. Court Questions Gift to Bar-Ilan NEW YORK — An al- leged $5 million contribu- tion to Bar-Ilan University from. William J. Levitt may have been an illegal diver- sion of funds, according to New York State Attorney General Robert Abrams. In a suit before the New York Supreme Court, the builder has been charged with pocketing the money which he claims was a gift to the university.
