Ardon Windows
at Hebrew U.

JERUSALEM — "Out of
Zion shall go forth the Law"
— Isaiah's prophetic vision
forms the theme of a trip-
tych in stained glass created
by artist Mordecai Ardon
for installation in the upper
foyer of the Jewish National
and University Library on
the Hebrew University's
Givat Ram campus.
About 100 square meters
in size, the triptych will
cover an area larger than
the Chagall Windows at the
Hadassah Medical Center
in Jerusalem. Like the
Chagall Windows, the
Ardon Windows are being
executed in the Charles
Marc Studio in Reims,
France. They are expected
to be inaugurated as part of
Israel's 36th anniversary
celebrations, next year.
To finance the work, the
artist is producing a limited
set of 150 signed and num-
bered scale replicas of the
windows.
