Women Install Officers;
Membership Drive Begins

Pioneer Women/Naamat
to Honor Frieda Leemon

A by-invitation-only par-
lor meeting will be held in
honor of Past National
President of Pioneer
Women/Naamat Frieda
Leemon at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 21
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Ralph Miller, 156 Lake
Park Dr., Birmingham.
The meeting will be the
kick-off in a campaign to
raise additional funds
necessary to complete a day
care center in Ramle, Israel
L- Detroit's sister city for
Project Renewal.
The day care center is
being partially funded by
the municipality, the labor
council and by Norman
Leemon, Mrs. Leemon's
husband., It will be named
Beit Frieda.

Arlene Cutler was in-
stalled as president of the
City of Hope Helen Rosen-
berg Cancer Fighters for the
1983-1985 term.
Officers to serve with her
are, Gwen Silverstein,
Mary Cohen, Barbara
Schubiner and Faye Dam-
rauer, vice presidents; Ruth
Young, treasurer; Sandra

Mrs. Leemon served two
terms as president of the na-
tional women's organiza-
tion. She is currently active
on the national board and
makes frequent trips to Is-
rael. Mrs. Leemon is a
member of Adat Shalom
Synagogue and served as a
vice president of its sister-
hood. She has served on the
boards of Israel Bonds and
United Jewish Appeal and
was on the presidium of the
World Zionist Organiza-
tion. She also was a member
of the Zionist General
Council.
She currently serves on
the national boards of the
Jewish National Fund, of
United Israel Appeal and
the executive board of the
American Zionist Federa-
tion.
The day care center is ex-
pected to open in October
1983, with the dedication
slated for June 1984.
