ceived the 1983 Distin-
guished Service Award of
Wayne State University
School of Medicine.
Dr. Zak is professor of
pathology at the school of
medicine and director of
clinical chemistry at De-
troit Receiving Hospital/
University Health Center.
He received both his BS and
PhD degrees from Wayne
State University and has
been a member of the fa-
culty since 1952. In addi-
tion, he is an adjunct profes-
sor at the University of
Windsor, Ont.

Murder of Nuns
May Have Been
`Inside Job'

JERUSALEM (JNI) —
Israeli police suspect that
the May 20 murder of two
nuns from the Russian Or-
thodox convent in Ein
Kerem may have been "an
inside-job."
A strong Soviet influence
is apparent in the workings
of the Moscow-based
church. Israel TV revealed
that the double murder was
reported to Moscow before
the Israeli police were
notified, ostensibly due to
the anxiety of the nun who
found the bodies.
