Rejects New Jewish Agenda The delegate assembly of the Jewish Community Council of Washington, D.C. has rejected the recommendation of its executive committee and turned down the application for membership of the New Jewish Agenda. The executive board voted last month 22-5 to ac- cept NJA, but the delegates voted 98-70 last Thursday against the application. According to the Wash- ington Post, the Washing- ton District of the Zionist Organization of America led the fight against accept- ing- NJA. Irwin Stein, president of the ZOA chap- ter, said NJA was not within the mainstream of Jewish thinking in this country and charged that the organization "was more pro-Arab than pro-Israel." NJA has an 18-point platform dealing with economic justice, racism, anti-Semitism, feminism and advocating a nuclear freeze.
