32 Friday, , June 3, 1983 THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS Education Seminar Is Held for Women of Israel Bonds The first in a series of educational seminars, a "What, How and Why Day" was presented recently by the Metro Detroit Women's Division of Israel Bonds. The meeting, held at the United Hebrew Schools in Southfield, was chaired by Doreen Hermelin, division chairman. Guest speaker Beatrice Weiss, national director of the Israel Bonds Women's Division, discussed how to seek out those women cur- rently uninvolved in the Is- rael Bond program. , "Jewish women, in addi- tion to their husbands, have a responsibility to the Jewish state. We must give to humanitarian causes in Israel, but we must also buy Bonds to upbuild the nation, so that Israel can be strong," she said.
