baseball game Sunday,
meeting at the synagogue at

Eric Matthew Mintz, a
fifth grader at Bingham
Farms Elementary School,
was a member of the second
place team in the state
"Olympics of the Mind"
competition at Central
Michigan University.

GREENFIELD invites
boys and girls age 5-9 to its
youth Shabat minyan at 10
a.m. Saturdays.
Boys age 8-12 will meet
7:10 p.m. Saturday in the
synagogue for the study of
the 613 Mitzvot (Sefer
Hachinuch) and Pirke Avot.
Kvutzat Shabat meets at
7:25 p.m. Saturdays. Chil-
dren in nursery school
through second grade are
invited.

BBYO Activities

Raoul Wallenberg AZA
recently topped Theodor
Herzl AZA of Windsor 54-39
in the championship game
of the AZA basketball
league. Members of the
winning team received AZA
basketball medals as well as
the Avram "Bud" Charlip
Memorial Trophy, which
was presented by Eliot and
Rachel Charlip.
In the semi-finals, Wal-
lenberg AZA had defeated
Jolson AZA and Herzl AZA
had defeated Goode AZA.
Members of the winning
team include Sam Levine,
Robbie Udman, Paul
Natinsky, David Rotter,
Mike Cooper, Bill Narens,
Bryan Waldman, Arnie
Zucker and high-scorer
Mike Rosenthal.
Machar BBG is the win-
ner in the BBG Volleyball
League. The chapter de-
feated Shira BBG two
games to one. Shira BBG
had defeated the
Shoshanna/Shemesh team
in the semi-finals. Members
of the winning Machar BBG
team are Karen Sklar,
Cindy Bakst, Shelly Katz,
Susie Olson, Hilary Olson,
Michelle Krause, Missy
Brenner, Ellen Leo, Alisa
Weintraub and Renee
Beim.
Eileen Aidem is the
new president of Aliyah
BBG.
The semi-finals and finals
of the Wallenberg AZA
Softball Classic will be
played Sunday at South-
field High School. In the
first game, Goode AZA will
play Wallenberg AZA, and
the winner of that game will
challenge Samson AZA in
the championship game.
Trophies for first and second
place will be awarded. Call

The newly-elected AZA
and BBG Council executive
boards will hold their
Executive Weekend June
3-5 at the Charles and Flor-
ence Milan BBYO Confer-
ence Centre in Belle River,
Ont. At that time the 1982-
1983 program year will be
evaluated and goalLsetting
and program planning will
take place for the 1983-1984
program year.
The AZA Softball League
will meet 9 a.m. May 29 at
Southfield High School. All
team and individual appli-
cations, along with the

due at the BBYO office on
Monday. Each team must
have at least 16 players at
that time. Chapters not able
to field a full team will be
combined with other chap-
ters in similar situation.

mentary players will be

Applications for the
Joan Kalef Memorial
Leadership Award will
be accepted at the BBYO
office through May 27.
The award salutes an
outstanding BBYO
leader by enabling him/
her to further leadership
experience by attending
the BBYO Machon
(Inter-Regional Conven-
tion), which will be held
June 19-23 at the Bnai
Brith Beber Camp in
Mukwonago, Wis. Appli-
cations are available at
the BBYO office. Dead-
line for applications to
attend the BBYO Mid-
west Machon are due
May 31.
Dan Plotnick and Annat
Apel, BBYO Council instal-
lation coordinators, have
announced that Beth Be-
rman and Larry Bircoll
have been selected as instal-
ling officers for the forth-
coming BBYO installation
to be held June 13 at 7 p.m.
at Temple Emanu-El. Beth
served as Council President
(1981-1982) and Larry as
Council President
(1979-1980). In addition to
the installation, Council
awards will be presented.
Michigan BBYO yearbooks
will be distributed at the in-
stallation. All members of
AZA and BBG are invited.
