a panel comprised of Wayne
County Executive William
Lucas, Oakland County
Executive Donald Murphy
and Macomb County Com-
missioner Patrick Johnson.

Artist Displays
Metal Sculpture

Artist Henry Friedman of
Oak Park will display his
award-winning metal
sculpture, "Fallen
Soldiers," at the Warren-
Hydromatic Division of
General Motors, Building
11 in the lobby.
The sculpture will be ex-
hibited June 3 at the Jewish
War Veterans Memorial
Home in Southfield in honor
of Memorial Day.

Film on Jewish Identity,
Discussion Hosted by AJC

see a videotape entitled, "I
Am a Jew," 8 p.m. May 23 at
Cong. Shaarey Zedek's
youth lounge.
Moderating the discus-
sion after the film will be
Joseph Giordano, former
assistant commissioner of
mental health of New York
and director of the Louis
Caplan Center on Group
Identity and Mental
Health.
Giordano co-authored a
book, "Ethnicity and Fam-
ily Therapy," and is a con-
tributing editor of Atten-
zione magazine.
He holds a MA degree
from Columbia's
Graduate School of So-
cial Work, where he is a
doctoral candidate spe-
cializing in social policy
and planning with an
emphasis on community
health.
For the past two years
Giordano has traveled ex-
tensively throughout the
U.S. and Canada as mod-
erator of the videotape for
lay and mental health pro-
fessionals. He joined the
American Jewish Commit-
tee in 1973 as a consultant
to the Institute on
Pluralism and Group Iden-
tity.
Prior to that he served as
director of the Multi-Family
Group Therapy Project at
the Educational Alliance
Division of Hillside Hospi-
tal.
In 1977, he was appointed
to the President's Commis-
sion on Mental Health,
serving on the Task Force
on Special Populations and
assisted in writing the re-
port on mental health care
