Teacher Strike

JERUSALEM (JTA) —
There were no classes Mon-
day for more than one mil-
lion Israeli school children
as teachers staged a one-day
strike to protest the gov-
ernment's failure to imple-
ment long promised- wage
increases.

The palm-tree grows best
beneath a ponderous
weight, and even so the
character of man. The petty
pangs of small daily cares
have often bent the char-
acter of men, but great mis-
fortunes seldom.
