Metropolitan Opera Soloist and well known baritone will sing the
role of ELIJAH in Mendelssohn's dramatic 19th Century oratorio
from the Book of Kings in the Old Testament. Vocal parts will be
sung by the Kenneth Jewell Chorale and the Bushnell. Chancel
Choir. Members of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra 'will accom-
pany the production which will be directed by Professor Ray
Ferguson.

The Burning Bush by Herman Berlinski, played on the pipe
organ by Dr. David Wagner, narrated by Rabbi Dannel I.
Schwartz.

Devotion by Cindi Rosner Kelly, dedicated to Professor Jason
Tickton and played by Cindi Rosner Kelly; clarinetist; Kim Rosner
Doekler, flutist; and Collette Salon Rosner,. pianist.
Trio by Julius Chajes, played by Mr. Chajes, pianist; Inez Re-
dman, violinist; and Marci Chanteaux, cellist from the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra.

Prayer by Julius Chajes, a new organ selection played by and
dedicated to Professor Jason Tickton.

Four choirs will participate, conducted by Mrs. Jason Tickton.
Vocal and Instrumental Selections by Ernest Bloch, Irving Berlin,
Jason Tickton, Cantor David Benedict, Max Janowski-and Cantor
William Sharlin.

The Kenneth Jewell Chorale — Eric Freudigman, Music Director

Jason Tickton will, be the coordinator of the entire production and
Rabbi Dannel Schwartz will be the narrator for the ELIJAH. Jason
Tickton started as organist at Temple Beth El the last Day of
Passover -in- 1933. This 1983 event will conclude "The Golden
Weekend" in his honor. He has been a Professor of Music at
Wayne State University for 46 years, has lectured for the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra, has written numerous articles about He-
brew Music, and has won many honors as an outstanding
educator at Wayne State University, including the President's
Award at the University in 1977.
