the 54th anniversary of
the organization. Nine
members met formally
the first time on Dec. 17,
1929 at the Beth Tefilo
Emanuel on Taylor and
Woodrow Wilson in De-
troit, and organized the
Council of Orthodox
Rabbis.
The Council today con-
sists of Rabbi Leib Bakst,
Yeshiva Gedola; Rabbi
Chaim Bergstein, Bais
Potok Lecture
Set Wednesday
"The Impact of Secular
Humanism on the Future of
Judaism" will be the topic of
a talk by author Dr. Chaim
Potok at 8:30 p.m. Wednes-
day at the Birmingham
Temple.
