luncheon on June 1 at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Irving

In 1982, under the leader-
ship of Mrs. Pearl Nosan-
chuk, the group adopted the
1982 beginners nursing
class, consisting of 26 stu-
dents, for their three-year

Welfare Federation re-
cently attended the Council
of Jewish Federations quar-
terly meeting in Washing-
ton, D.C.
The meeting's agenda fo-
cused on plans for the 1984
Campaign. Forums were
held on the impact of the re-
cession on Jews and Jewish
agencies, international af-
fairs, and proposed changes
in the Social Security sys-
tem. The Large City
Budgeting Conference also
met.
Detroit participants in-
cluded CJF President Mar-
tin E. Citrin, former CJF
President Max M. Fisher
and current Federation
President Avern Cohn.
Others attending were
Mandell L. Berman, Stan-
ley Frankel, Carolyn
Greenberg, Ellen Labes,

Shalom Camp-in
at Main JCC

Shalom Campers, Michi-
gan's first Jewish camping
club, will hold a "camp-in"
on the east parking lot of the
main Jewish Community
Center on May 6-8.
The organization camps
as a group the second
weekend of each month,
April through October, at
campgrounds within 100
miles of Detroit.
Plans for the "camp-in"
include a kidush Friday
evening and pot-luck sup-
per Saturday.
