come the largest Orthodox
congregation in the Detroit
area.

Young Israel of Green-
field has added several
classes to its adult educa-
tion series.
Rabbi Feivel Wagner will
lead the Women's Torah
seminar in the study of the
Megilla of Ruth. Classes
will be held 8 p.m. May 2, 9
and 16 at the synagogue.
The annual Shabat after-
noon Pirke Avot lectures
will begin 6:10 p.m. Satur-
day and are held each
Saturday beginning ap-
proximately three hours be-
fore the end of Shabat.
The. Parshos Hashavua
class will meet 2 p.m. Wed-
nesdays to study the Torah
portion of the week.

Paul Borman, chairman
of the 54th anniversary
banquet of the Council of
Orthodox Rabbis of Greater
Detroit, announces that
comedian Alan King will
be the guest speaker at the
affair on May 11 at the Wes-
tin Hotel. Cocktails will be
served at 6, with dinner at 7.
King has spent countless
hours raising money and
campaigning on behalf of
charities and humanitarian
causes.
He founded the Alan
King Diagnostic Medical
Center, a '13-story complex
in Jerusalem. He estab-
lished a non-sectarian
scholarship fund for Ameri-
can students at the Hebrew
University of Jerusalem.
He also spearheaded
fund raising for the de-
velopment of the Nassau
Center for Emotionally
Disturbed Children, a re-
search and rehabilitation
complex on Long Island,
N.Y. In 1974, he estab-
lished a liberal arts chair
at Brandeis University in
Massachusetts.,.,
