Chajes 'Trio' Will Be Performed at JWF '83 Women's Meeting
Julius Chajes' "Trio in D
Minor" will be presented at
the Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion Women's Division 37th
annual meeting, May 12, at
Cong. Shaarey Zedek. The
10 a.m. meeting, which in-
cludes luncheon, is titled
"Variations on a Federation
Theme of Service."
Chajes, pianist as well as
composer, will be joined by
violinist Inez Redman and
cellist Marcy Chanteaux.
Chajes is the founder and

chestra. She is assistant
principal cellist of the De-
troit Symphony Orchestra.
JULIUS CHAJES
has been the conductor of
the Center Symphony Or-
chestra since 1940, and has
been adjunct professor of
piano at Wayne State Uni-
versity since 1950.
Ms. Redman studied
with violinist Mischa
Mischakoff and was a
member of the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra for
10 years. She is currently
a member of the Detroit
String Quartet.

tions made to them by
members of Women's Di-
vision.
During the business por-

will report on the year's ac-
tivities, and Marlene Bor-
man, division Campaign
chairman, will discuss the
results of the Allied Jewish
Campaign. The election and
installation of officers for
1983-1984 also will take

open to division members,
as well as Campaign and
educational leadership. It
will feature study sessions
in an informal camp setting.

education, friendship and
fun, according to retreat
chairman Susan Citrin.
