Book Burning
to Be Marked

West Berlin on "The Book
Burning: Its Reflection in
America."
May 10 is the 50th an-
niversary of the burning of
books by the Nazis at the
University of Berlin.

NEW YORK — "Heri-
tage: Civilization and the
Jews" resumed filming on
Ellis Island last week fol-
lowing a hiatus to raise
additional funds for the 10-
part public television series.
New York's WNET, the
flagship PBS station pro-
ducing the series, sus-
pended filming last Novem-
ber, having spent $6 million
on the first six episodes.
