♦ ♦ Dear Becky,
• •

While in town visiting relatives, we +
A
had lunch at the Pickle Barrel Deli. •
What Yiddishe tam! Their food was su-
perb! Their homemade mushroom bar-
ley soup was just like bubbie used to
make. Do you remember? And the
chopped liver, m-m-m, served with hot,
crispy rye bread. Oi, I wish we had a deli
like this in our town.

The following evening we tried the
for dinner. Oi, what a
mechiya! I had the brisket of beef and
Sammy had the stuffed cabbage. De-
licious!! It came complete with soup,
salad, potato, vegetable and a bread
basket. Oh, and each table had a barrel
V of fresh dill pickles.

All under $6. Do you believe it? How
lucky you are to have such a place in
your town.

Love,
Mollie

the 3,000 meter steep-
lechase competition.

is Andrei Soren, who beats
out Jayson Meisler of the

of 24'- 1/4," while Gil Lemmel

Study Finds Israeli Youths
Selective About Future Mate

RAMAT GAN — Al-
most 50 percent of Israeli
youth are selective as to the
communal background of
their potential partners in
marriage. This conclusion
arose from a research into
inter-communal marriage
in Israel by Rina Shachar of
Bar-Ilan University.
The survey also con-
cluded that the most re-
jected potential partners
were of North African and
- Middle Eastern extraction.
Their rejection came not
only from those interviewed
with a European back-
ground, but also from
within their own potential

believes that the rejection of
