WASHINGTON (JTA) —
Rep. Barney Frank (D-
Mass.) has called on the
president of Radio Free
Europe/Radio Liberty to
remove Anton Adamovich,
a known Nazi collaborator,
from the radio's payroll
where he has been em-
ployed in a number 'of
capacities since 1957.
Adamovich admitted on
the CBS-TV "60 Minutes"
program 10 months ago that
he was a propagandist for
the Nazis and later became
an informant for U.S. Army
Intelligence. U.S. law pro-
hibits Nazi war col-
laborators from entering
the country in most in-
stances.
"The available evidence
clearly shows that Mr.
Adamovich was deeply in-
volved with the Byelorus-
sian Nazi puppet govern-
ment. He should be im-
mediately removed from his
position which is paid in
part by U.S. government
funds," Frank said.
James
Buckley,
president of Radio Free
Europe/Radio Liberty,
responded to Frank's ini-
tial request for action on
this case by saying that,
"To date there has been

forts of all those who have
pushed this Campaign
toward its goal during a
time of tremendous needs
and severe economic pres-
sures." He urged the entire
community to join with
Bikel and AJCampaign
leadership and volunteers
in "the evening's expression
of Jewish unity."
During the Campaign's
crucial remaining weeks,
workers will be mobilizing
for a final effort to reach all
those who have not yet
made their 1983 pledge. In
addition to a telethon Wed-
nesday and Thursday,
workers will also be contact-
ing contributors with out-
standing balances on their
special IEF pledges, which
were payable in full the end
of last month.
Tauber stressed the
importance of "maintain-
ing our commitments to
our local social service
agencies and to our be-
neficiaries overseas." He
added that Campaign
leaders are confident
that "our unique com-
munity will respond as it
has in the past and that
the April 19 gathering
will truly be a celebra-
tion."
Reservations are neces-
sary for the concert and re-
ception. There is a charge.

U.S. to Resume
Role in UN
Atomic Agency

NEW YORK — The
United States has declared
its intention to renew par-
ticipation in the Interna-
tional Atomic Energy
Agency (IAEA), indicating
at the same time that the
dispute over the rejection of
Israeli credentials last year
would be satisfactorily re-
solved, according to the
World Jewish Congress
(WJC).
The UN Office of the WJC
cited information released
by the State Department
that "the President has de-
cided that the IAEA is criti-
cal to U.S. national security
interests and our non-
proliferation policy. He has
also decided that we shall
return to participation in
the agency at an early,
appropriate date."

no evidence given to us
which would justify our
taking administrative ac-
tion in the Adamovich
case."
John Loftus, a former
Nazi investigator for the
U.S. Justice Department,
responded that "Anton
Adamovich served on the
Praesidium of the central
governing body of a Nazi
government in exile at war
with the United States."
