Henry Demant

Henry G. Demant, co-
president and co-owner of
Walter Herz Interiors in
Southfield, died March 27 at
age 61.
Born in East Prussia, Mr.
Demant has been with the
Herz firm for 36 years. He
was a veteran of World War
II in the 82nd Airborne Di-
vision.
He was a survivor of
Buchenwald concentration
camp, came to the U.S. in
1939 and entered the U.S.
Army in 1941.
Mr. Demant was a fel-
low and a member of the
national board of the
American Society of
Interior Designers, past
president of the Michigan
Chapter and regional
vice presdient of the
ASID.
He leaves his wife, Mar-
garet; and a son, Steven.
