Annual Bargman Lectures
Begin at Midrasha in April
their daughter, Robin
Pike, to Dr. Charles L.
Rollinger, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Irving Rollinger of
Bloomfield Hills. Miss Pike
received a degree in biology
from the University of
Colorado and a degree in
clinical psychology from the
graduate school of the Uni-
versity of Denver. She will
pursue doctoral studies at
Cambridge Hospital in Bos-
ton, Mass. Dr. Rollinger
earned a BS degree at Stan-
ford University and a medi-
cal degree from the Univer-
sity of Michigan Medical
School. He is completing his
residency at Mercy Medical
Center, Denver. A June
wedding is planned.

The Midrasha College of
Jewish studies will hold its
27th Annual Mina and
Theodore Bargman Memo-
rial Lectures on the theme
"Israel in the Arab World"
April 6, 13 and 20, at the
main United Hebrew
Schools' LaMed Au-
ditorium. The public is in-
vited at no charge.
On April 6, Prof. Ab-
raham Udovitch will speak
on "The Arab Mind — Reli-
gious, Cultural and Social
Development." Prof.
Udovitch is chairman of the
department of Near Eastern
Studies at Princeton Uni-
versity. He is the author of
numerous books.
Prof. Mark Heller will
speak April 13 on "The Arab
Mind — Political and Eco-
nomic Realities." Prof. Hel-
ler is a senior research asso-
ciate at the Center for
Strategic Studies, Tel Aviv
University. He is currently
on leave at the Center, for
International Affairs, Har-
vard University, where he
is doing research on the
military balance in the
Middle East and the Iran-
Iraq war. Prof. Heller is the
author of one book.
The final lecture in the
series will be delivered by
Prof. Howard Morley Sac-
har on April 20. Prof. Sac-
har of George Washington
University, Washington,
D.C., will speak on "Middle
East Prospects for Peace —
Israel's Responses to the
Arab World." Dr. Sachar
teaches history and is a lec-
turer on Middle Eastern af-
fairs for numerous govern-
ment bodies. He is the
author of eight books.
The funds for these lec-
tures are provided by the
Mina and Theodore
Bargman Foundation. The
Bargmans were very active
in charitable communal ac-
tivities. In addition to their
involvement at the United
Hebrew Schools and the
Midrasha, the Bargmans
were actively involved at
Temple Beth El. Mrs.
Bargman was also involved
in activities of the Women's
Division of the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation, Hadassah
and Jewish Family Service.
The Bargman Institute
Planning Committee is
chaired by Dr. Irving
Panush with Dr. Joseph
Epel as co-chairman. The
committee includes Jeffrey
Borin, Dr. Maxwell Bar-
denstein, Dr. Barbara
Goodman, Dr. Dan Guyer,
