' Irving S. Kane, a real es- tate and land developer, died March 5 at age 61. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Kane lived 25 years in Detroit. He was the president of the Compass Realty Co. and secretary of the Fisher Building Co. He was appointed by the late Detroit Mayor Jerome P. Cavanagh as chairman of the Detroit Committee for , Industrial and Commercial Development. He was the past commander of the Jewish War Veterans. Mr. Kane served on the city of Southfield Plan- ning Commission and was given a plaque from the city "for dedicated service." He was in the Marine's First Air Wing in China combat. He was a member of Cong. Beth Achim and the Detroit Real Estate Board. He leaves his wife, Inez; four daughters, Mrs. Marc (Sugar) Vogel of Las Vegas, Nev., Mrs. Eliot (Candy) Marcus, Phyllis and Hilary; two sisters, Mrs. Irving (Mollie) Sclawy and Mrs. Nathan (Gloria) Friedman; and two grandchildren.
