The answers to what is being done to help alleviate those needs will be discussed at a human needs seminar sponsored by the Jewish Welfare Federa- tion's Conference of Di- vision Chairmen at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Set for the Jewish Com- munity Center in West Bloomfield, the meeting will provide an overview of needs in the Detroit area by John D. Maclnnes, execu- tive vice president of United Community Services of Metropolitan Detroit. A panel of Federation agency presidents and executive directors will dis- cuss the ways in which their individual agencies are dealing with the growing needs. During the dialogue, possible ways to maximize service will be considered. Among those par- ticipating are Allan Nachman and Michael Zaks, Fresh Air Society; Charles G. Stone and Dr. Morton Plotnick, Jewish Community Center; David Lebenbom and Alyin L. Kushner, Jewish Community. Council; Helen Shevin and Samuel Lerner, Jewish Family Service; and Nora Barron and Albert A. Ascher, Jewish Vocational Serv- ice. The role of Federation and the Allied Jewish Cam- paign in coordinating and funding will be touched upon by Federation President Avern Cohn and Campaign Chairman Joel D. Tauber. According to Newsweek magazine, the Saudis want to evaluate how well the tank performs in the desert before placing an order for the tank. Newsweek said a Saudi order for the M1 would touch off renewed con- troversies between the U.S. and Israel.
