Serve on shredded let- tuce. Garnish with lemon wedges. Serves 6. * RUSSIAN HERRING APPETIZER RECIPE 1 pint sour cream 3-4 tbsps. onion soup mix 1 /4 cup white wine 1 tbsp. dill weed 1 /4 tsp. pepper 1 12-ounce jar Vita herring in wine sauce, drained, cut in 1-inch pieces Sliced egg and parsley for garnish Combine sour cream, onion soup mix, wine, dill weed and pepper. Fold in herring. Cover and chill for two to four hours. Garnish with egg slices and parsley. Serve well chilled with matza, or roll spoonfuls into lettuce bundles and secure with appetizer picks.
