"10 slices whole wheat bread, two 15-oz. cans tomato puree, 3 /4 cup brown sugar, one stick oleo, 1 cup water and lemon juice . . . Melt oleo, dice bread, add to oleo and mix well. Bring puree, water and brown sugar to a boil and pour over bread and mix well. Pour into 9x13x2 baking dish and sprinkle lemon juice over all. Bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes or until brown."
