`Workshop' in Southfield

Herschel P. Fink, a jour-
nalist and attorney, will ad-
dress the local chapter of the
American Jewish Congress
at 8 p.m. Monday in the
main United Hebrew
Schools building.
Fink will speak on "The

Supporters of the SS-
Action Group, an organiza-
tion of neo-Nazis, staged a
"workshop" at the South-
field Civic Center Sunday
afternoon.
Heavy security was pro-
vided by the Southfield
police department for the
two-hour meeting and order
was kept despite the
presence of a group of
Jewish protesters in a park-
ing lot outside the center.
Civic Center facilities were
ruled off-limits to everyone

Nazi group who attended
the workshop and the
protesters, according to
Southfield Police Chief
Edward Ritenour. The
workshop, which con-
sisted of films and
speeches, was advertised
by invitation only, he.
said.
The protesters, some of
them Holocaust survivors,
expressed feelings of bitter-
ness toward the city of
Southfield for allowing the
neo-Nazi group to use city
property for the workshop.


- 1 cup sugar

1 egg
1/4 cup pareve creamer
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
2 tsps. baking powder
Store-bought or homemade fil-
ling
Mix margarine, sugar and
egg until well blended. Add
vanilla and pareve cream
alternately with flour to which
baking powder has been
added.
Mix dough well. Form a ball,
wrap it in wax paper and re-
frigerate for two hours. Flour
board and rolling pin. Roll
dough to about 1/8 inch thick-
ness. Cut circles with a water
glass. Put a spoonful of filling
in center of each circle. Fold
up three sides of dough and
pinch corners very tightly to-
gether to form a triangle. Bake
at 375 degrees for about 40
minutes.
