Youth Symphony
Concert Slated

the first two weekends of
the month. The historical
cavalcade of songs, dances
and sketches taken from
early American and British
musical comedy will be per-
formed at 8 p.m. March 4, 5,
11 and 12. Sunday matinees
are scheduled for March 6
and 13 at 2 p.m.
"Steal Away Home," a
dramatic presentation of
the story of the under-
ground railroad will be per-
formed at the WSU General
Lectures Hall auditorium
Thursday through March 6
and March 10-13. Perfor-
mance times are 8 p.m. with
additional performances
slated for 2 p.m. March 5
and •12.
Anton Chekov's "The
Seagull" will open at the
Hilberry Theater March
9, with preview perfor-
mances scheduled for
next Thursday and Fri-
day. The drama will run
through May 13.

Music Fair,
Concert Conclude
DSO Marathon

A music fair at the Westin
Hotel in downtown Detroit
and an afternoon concert by
the Detroit Symphony Or-
chestra Sunday will wrap
up DSO Radio Marathon
Week.
The music fair, one of a
series of events designed to
raise funds for the sym-
phony, will be held from
noon to 6 p.m. on the hotel's
promenade level. The fair
will feature groups perform-
ing Dixieland; jazz and clas-
sical music on four separate
stages throughout the af-
ternoon. There is a nominal
charge and refreshments
will be available.
The DSO has scheduled a
"Thank You Detroit Con-
cert" for 2:30 p.m. at Ford
Auditorium. The orchestra,
under the direction of Maes-
tro Gary Bertini, will per-
form Tchaikovsky's "1812
Overture" and other well-
known selections. Tickets
will be available at the box
office the day of the concert.
