First local Bennigan's, a Pillsbury subsidiary (Steak & Ale and Poppin' Fresh Pies) opened in June 1982 on the former parking lot of Ted's, Woodward and Square Lake Rd. . . . seating 276 in a turn-of-the-century decor motif with billiard parlor sign, musical in- struments, Tiffany lamps, golf sets, tennis racquet, hanging plants, stop, go and caution signs always blink- ing, beamed ceiling, dark woods, brass railings, etc. . .. A center bar is sur- rounded by well-planned and organized settings that give an atmosphere of inti- macy. An excellent training program shows with wait- resses like Rozanne McGraw, whose pretty smile and fast efficient serv- ice are top complements .. . The menu has oodles of goodies like lightly-breaded mozzerella cheese sticks with dip of chili sauce and something different called a California Burger, melted cheese, guacamole and to- matoes . . . The muffins made on the premises, banana and nut, zucchini and blueberry, are delicious . . . and come with a very tasty -honey butter. Not many acts get an opportu- nity to crack the highly- competitive Vegas entertainment scene, no matter how talented they might be . . . However, when Barron Hilton, head of the Hilton Hotels chain, caught Paul and his group at Hurley's in Northfield Hilton on Crooks Rd. during Super Bowl week a year ago, he made certain that they would be inked into the crowded Flamingo Hilton schedule . . . even if it took an entire season to bring about . . . "Lunch Hour" is directed by Dolores Shevlin . . . with the five- member cast consisting of Joe Lannen, Debbie Sekerak, Sandra Suther- land, Dick Coe and Tom Christopher. It was first presented on Broadway, Nov. 12, 1980, featuring former localite Gilda Radner of the original "Saturday Night Live" TV show.
