Lincoln . . . that started out

seater . . . 17 seats at the
counter, five two-top tables
and two booths.
Giorgio's is the only

Sensational marinated salads...steaming soup...bagels and all the

However, because of the
crowds, George is now doing
the cooking with those same
burners on the back counter
instead . . . and in full flam-
ing view of everyone .. .
(Steak Diane $6.95, Veal
Marsala $6.75, Veal
Picante $6.75, Steak au
Poivre $7.50, Beef Carpet
Bag $7.50, Chicken Picante
$6.25, Pepper Steak $7.50,
etc.) . . . Best sellers are his
broiled white fish and Steak
Diane.
People have asked to buy
his Caesar salad dressing,
so George will soon bottle
the delicious mixture.
ANOTHER BENNI-
GAN'S Tavern may come to
Southfield around October
. . . Expected site is on
Northwestern Hwy. next to
Victoria Station.
First local Bennigan's, a
Pillsbury subsidiary (Steak
& Ale and Poppin' Fresh
Pies) opened in June 1982
on the former parking lot of
Ted's, Woodward and
Square Lake Rd. . . . seating
276 in a turn-of-the-century
decor motif with billiard
parlor sign, musical in-
struments, Tiffany lamps,
golf sets, tennis racquet,
hanging plants, stop, go and
caution signs always blink-
ing, beamed ceiling, dark
woods, brass railings, etc.
. .. A center bar is sur-
rounded by well-planned
and organized settings that
give an atmosphere of inti-
macy.
An excellent training
program shows with wait-
resses like Rozanne
McGraw, whose pretty
smile and fast efficient serv-
ice are top complements .. .
The menu has oodles of
goodies like lightly-breaded
mozzerella cheese sticks
with dip of chili sauce and
something different called a
California Burger, melted
cheese, guacamole and to-
matoes . . . The muffins
made on the premises,
banana and nut, zucchini
and blueberry, are delicious
. . . and come with a very
tasty -honey butter.
There are 80 Bennigan's
Taverns around the country
. . . with home office in Dal-
las, Texas . . . for S&A Inc.
part of Pillsbury which op-
erated the three restau-
rants.
PAUL LOCRICHIO,
popular song-stylist and
entertainer, has recently
opened at the Flamingo Hil-
ton in Las Vegas . . . with
his group, Metro . . . Not
many acts get an opportu-
nity to crack the highly-
competitive Vegas
entertainment scene, no
matter how talented they
might be . . . However,
when Barron Hilton, head
of the Hilton Hotels chain,
caught Paul and his group
at Hurley's in Northfield
Hilton on Crooks Rd. during
Super Bowl week a year
ago, he made certain that
they would be inked into the
crowded Flamingo Hilton
schedule . . . even if it took
an entire season to bring
about . . . Guarantee he's
not sorry.
MAIL DEPT. ... "In
your Jan. 21 column, you
mentioned corned beef
sandwiches at 15 cents. My
memory seems to recall the
Samuels Bros. menu of
1927, which I sent you years
ago, where they mentioned
the same sandwich for 12
cents. Many other bargains.
Ah! Those were the days.
Anyway, here is a copy
which I made from the orig-
inal loaned to me by one of
the brothers some years
ago."
Alfred Keats
Many thanks to Al for the
copy. I sure appreciate it,
and drool at those prices .. .
grilled steak sandwich with
salad and French fries, 35';
plain omelette 20'; salami &
eggs 30'; coffee, tea or milk
5'; local beer 10'; cold dishes
from 30' to 45', etc., etc. . . .
Tedd Schneider in The
Jewish News newsroom is
correct that money is so
very different today . . . But
it's still mighty good to look
at the 1927 Samuels Bros.
menu and dream.
