Broadcaster
on Peace Ship

Shelley Sherman, 21-
year-old daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Denny (Sandy)
Brenner and Murray Sher-
man of Southfield, has re-
cently been hired by the
Voice of Peace as an evening
disc jockey. The Voice of
Peace of Abie Nathan
broadcasts from a ship
docked in the international
waters of the Mediterra-
nean Sea, 13 miles off Tel
Aviv.
Miss Sherman, a Michi-
gan State University stu-
dent, is employed as a disc
jockey at WWCK-FM in
Flint, Mich. She is on leave
from WWCK and MSU
until she returns from Is-
rael.

Donor Luncheon

Conservative Women's Group
Plans Brunch at Bnai Moshe

Michigan Branch, Wo-
men's League for Conserva-
tive Judaism, in coopera-
tion with the United
Synagogue of America will
have a brunch meeting 10
a.m. March 6 at Cong. Bnai
Moshe. A coffee bar will
precede the meeting at 9:30
a.m.
Guest speaker will be
Edya Arzt, education direc-
tor of the women's league.
The daughter of a rabbi,
Mrs. Arzt earned a BA de-
gree at Brooklyn College
and a MFA degree at Yale
University.
She has been national
committee chairman and
national vice president of
the women's league. Mrs.
Arzt is a member of the
United Synagogue Com-
mission on Jewish Edu-
cation and was chairman
of the summer activities
committee, chairman of
its family education

A spring fashion show
will highlight the 37th an-
nual Maimonides Medical
Society Women's Auxiliary
donor luncheon to be held
March 15 at the Michigan
Inn.
The day will begin with
gift boutiques at 10 a.m. fol-
lowed by luncheon.
Proceeds from the donor
will benefit the Tri-County
Braille project, Kresge Eye
Institute, Children's Hospi-
tal Burn Center and its
Center for Abused and Neg-
lected Children. Interest-
free loans also are provided
for medical students.

1 cup chopped pecans
2 sticks margarine
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups flour
1 tsp. vanilla
coconut
Combine ingredients into a
dough. Form into 1-inch balls.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15
minutes. Roll in coconut. Put
into small paper cupcake pap-
ers.
