topic of a lecture and slide
presentation by Lt. Col. It-
zhak Itzhaki 8 p.m. March 7
at Cong. Beth Achim. The
event is co-sponsored by the
Jewish National Fund,
Cong. Beth Achim and the
United Hebrew Schools.

Hashachar Camp
Seeks Campers

Hashachar's
Camp
Young Judaea is taking
registration for its summer
camping programs.
Sessions will be held June
28 — July 22 and July 22 —
Aug. 19 at the Ortonville
campsite.
The camp provides a pro-
gram of Jewish content,
Shabat and kashrut obser-
vance. A 40-acre nature
center, lake and beaches,
modern dining hall, sports
facilities and cabins are
among the camp features.
Youth age 9-13 are elig-
ible to register.
Hashachar also has a
camp in Barryville, N.Y.,
for youth age 13-18.

An
internationally
acclaimed archeologist,
teacher and biblical scholar,
Col. Itzhaki is an educa-
tional consultant for in-
stitutions in Israel and
South Africa.
A native-born Israeli,
Col. Itzhaki is a graduate of
Hebrew University. Joinitig
Israel's Army in 1948, he
participated in the defense
of Jerusalem during the
War of Independence. Later
he served as brigade and
Territorial Central Com-
mand education officer, and
as director of the Central
Military School of Educa-
tion.
At his retirement from
the army in 1969, he
headed the educational
branch of general head-
quarters in charge of the
Yediat Ha-aretz ( Knowl-
edge of the Land) Pro-
gram, by which Israelis
learned about their his-
tory and geography

Libyan Threat

BEIRUT — Libya's Gen-
eral Peoples Council has
voted to arm every Libyan
citizen and form suicide
squads to "press attacks in-
side Arab territory occupied
by Israel."
The council, Libya's
highest body, also called for
attacks against "those sym-
bols of treason" in the Arab
world that are aligned with
the U.S.
