As part of its fund-raising
efforts, Akiva is providing
its supporters with a Megil-
lat Esther for Purim.
Meanwhile, Akiva's
teachers have taken the
school to court, claiming the
school did not follow the
arbitration procedure in the
teachers' contract during a
grievance filed last fall.
The teachers say the
school did not submit a list
of potential arbitrators as
required by the contract,
thus blocking the process.
The teachers said the
school filled four full-time
positions last fall with
part-time teachers. Sub-
sequently, three of the
teachers left the school and
the fourth was hired full-
time.
