Russian Jewish immig-
rant children are watching
too much TV, and that wor-
ries their parents, according
to Dr. Luba Berton, director
of the Jewish Community
Center's Russian Acculura-
tion Program.
In an effort to get their
kids away from the TV, the
parents have found a project
in which the children can
use their time more con-
structively.
With the encouragement
of Lubov Kumming, an 80-
year-old former Russian
schoolteacher, the parents
have planned a Purim festi-
val to be held in conjunction
with the Bnai Brith
Women.
The festival will be held
1 p.m. Feb. 20 at the
Jimmy Prentis Morris
Branch of the Jewish
Center. The afternoon
will be highlighted by
members of the accultu-
ration program's New
World Club who will play
piano and violin, dance
and perform gymnastic
routines.
The New World Club
members, age 6-15, who will
perform include: Ann Gor-
din, Sergei Roitman, David
Kolesnikov, Ira Simis, Julia
Zelikov, Jackie Shen-
derovich, Alex Kumming,
Toli Shabashov, Jenny
Aleshker, Albert Berger,
Nataly Gesse, Alex Sirota,
Mikle Khomutin, Faina
Lerman, Zhanna Vilensky
and Ira Dobrusin.
The Bnai Brith Women's
volunteers will join mem-
bers of the Bnai Brith Girls

Savage, Ahava, Aliya,
Rishona, Erani, Shoshana
and Shalom Aviv chapters
by providing traditional re-
freshments, skits, clowns,
