Center Purim Celebration
Features Activities for Kids
The Jewish Community
Center will have its annual
day-long Purim celebration
Feb. 27 at the main Center
complex.
Children's activities will
highlight the celebration.
At 1 p.m. there will be a
magic show and at 1:30
p.m., a costume parade with
prizes for everyone. Chuck-
les the Clown will give free
balloon animals to the chil-
dren. •
Esther's Carnival for
children age 2 1/2-6 will take
place in -room 239 at 1:45
p.m. There will be. Purim
carnival games and prizes.
Second-sixth graders
can participate at 1:45
p.m. in the King's Court
in.the Center gym. There
will be games and races,
an obstacle course, "hit
Haman" game, hockey
shoot-out and
touchdown toss. Prizes
will be awarded.
Toddlers and their par-
ents can enjoy a Purim
party in room 244 at 1:45
p.m. Materials will be
available t9. make Purim
crowns and decorations.
The Purim Popcorn
Playhouse will present . the
"Wizard of Oz" at 3 p.m. in
the Aaron DeRoy Studio
Theater. Admission is free,
and free popcorn will be
served. All ages are invited.

group of South African sci-
entists is visiting Israel to
study its rain-making sys
tems, in anticipation of a
water shortage in South Af-
rica by the year 2020.
The group will spend,
some time at the Hebrew
University laboratory of
Prof. Avraham. Gagin who,
together with Profs.
Yehuda Neumann and
Ruben Gavriel, have ac-
quired a world-wide reputa-
tion for successfully seeding
clouds to produce a consid-
erable increase in local
rainfalls.
