Students Seek
Data for Class

A class of West German
10th graders, participating
in a competition on histori-
cal research, are seeking
the names of Jews who lived
in, Lampertheim, Hessen,
during World War II.
In a letter received by The
Jewish News, the students
requested:
"Perhaps you can give us
names and addresses of
Jewish families who lived in
Lampertheim, Hessen, at
the time of the Nazi regime.
We would like to contact
these people and interview
these people on how they
lived and what they experi-
enced at that time."
Persons interested in
helping the students should
write to them in care of
Andrea Boob, Postflach

Persons of or nearing re-
tirement age will find an-
swers to their questions
about retiring in Israel at
the "Step Up to Israel" Con-
ference 1 p.m. Feb. 13 at the
main Jewish Community
Center.
Other areas to be covered
at this community-wide
conference which is geared
to high school youth and
adults include travel, busi-
ness and investment oppor-
tunities, volunteerism and
aliya.
Tzipora Liben, national
president of the National
American Aliya Movement
and executive director of
World Council Of Syna-
gogues, will serve as the na-
tional resource person on
retirement in Israel.
She and her husband
will make aliya in 1%
years, joining their three
children who have pre-
ceeded them: one daugh-
ter, who made aliya 11
years ago, is a lawyer;
another daughter, 10
years ago, is a social
worker on a moshav; and
her son, just two years
ago, is a graduate student
in communications at
Hebrew University.
Mrs. Liben's father was a
delegate to the Zionist Con-
gress from Hapoel HaMiz-
rachi in 1929, which was
also the first time she and
her mother visited Pales-
tine. Later in the 1930s, she
returned to attend high
school. She has since visited
Israel innumerable times
with her husband and her
children.
Besides explaining how
retirement in Israel is eco-
nomically feasible for a per-
son from the U.S. who has
retired on Social Security,
Mrs. Liben will discuss the
