The Israel Histadrut
Campaign of Metropolitan
Detroit announces the
newly established Ruth Ben
Ari Institute for Clinical
Immunology at the Kaplan
Hospital, part of the Kupat
Holim Network, Rehovot,
Israel, is a beneficiary of its
fund drives.
The institute is involved
in the study of gastrointes-
tinal cancer, rheumatic dis-
ease (such as Rheumatoid
Arthritis, Systemic Lupus
Erythematosus and Vas-
culitis) and in immunedefi-
ciency diseases. It will also
be involved in the study of
autoimmune diseases, espe-
cially those related to the
endocrine organs (such as
thyroid diseases and diab-
etes mellitus) and also lym-
phoproliferative disorders.

Ruth Ben Ari died at age
37 from an inability to pro-
duce antibodies that would
protect her against infec-
tion.
Her parents, Elka and
Shimon Kravinsky, estab-
lished in her memory the
new building for the insti-
tute.
The Israel Histadrut
Campaign will provide
equipment for the institute
and funds for research into
gastrointestinal cancer.

to a report published last
month in International Se-
curity magazine in London
and reprinted in Haaretz.
The security syste m was
