Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tor-

the engagement of their
daughter, Julie Torgow, to
Eli Halpern, son of Rabbi
and Mrs. Israel I. Halpern of
West Bloomfield. Miss Tor-
gow received a RN degree
from Beth Israel School of
Nursing in New York and
attends Stern College. Her

ceived a donation of a record
collection from the Jewish
Community Council.
Included in the donation
were Vistas of Israel, a
weekly series produced by
the Israel Broadcasting
Authority, featuring music
and narration on Israeli life
and culture.
Records acquired in-
cluded a selection of canto-
rial music, Jewish holiday
music and historical albums
describing. American-
Jewish life in the .1950s and
1960s.
In addition, records de-
voted to Yiddish, early and
modern Israeli pop music
and international Judaic
melodies were part of the
collection.
