Keren Dorot — Gold
Chain — Family Funds can
be established for $1,000 or
$2,000. A beneficicary of the
program is designated by
the contributor and, on the
annual occasion of the con-
tributor's choice, a check for
$100 is sent to the assignee
for 10 years or 20 years.
Each check is accompanied
by a certificate from Israel
commemorating the occa-
sion and honoring the
donor.
The Jewish National
Fund, following the Leba-
non emergency, has re-
sumed many long-delayed
projects in Israel. The JNF
budget has increased from
1978's $15 million to last
year's of over $150 million.
By participating in the
Keren Dorot Fund,
grandparents can- honor
their grandchildren;
spouses can honor one
another; friendships can
be commemorated on an
annual basis. The fund
can be used to enhance
any occasion — birth-
days, anniversaries,
Bar/Bat Mitzvas, Jewish

Cositemperary—Big Baml Sands

and other holidays — any
day of significance to the
donor or the recipient.

Navon Approves
Policy Debates

JERUSALEM (ZINS) —
Israeli President Yitzhak
Navon told reporters that
the public debate in Israel
over the war in Lebanon
was "not only legitimate but
desirable" as long as it was
within "respectful and civil
bounds."
Navon said, "It is shock-
ing to characterize the
Prime Minister or the De-
fense Minister as 'murder-
ers' or to describe as
`traitors' all those who op-
pose the government."
